5 Easy Last Minute Gift Ideas

Last Minute Holiday Gift Ideas

If you’re not quite ready for the holidays, here are 5 easy last minute gift ideas for you. And if you are ready for the holidays (congrats!), maybe you want to tuck these ideas away for next year!

1: A Simple Card

Easy Handmade Holiday Card

Gifts don’t need to be elaborate or expensive to be meaningful. Sometimes a simple handmade card can be a perfect gift.

Send a Card

The holidays are not always a joyous time for some. Receiving a simple handmade card can remind them that someone is thinking of them and cares. It can help brighten what may be a hard time of year for them.

If you like this particular card, it’s one I did a video tutorial for. You can find it HERE.

2: A Bundle of Handmade Cards

Bundle of Handmade Cards

If you make more cards than you actually send out, putting together a bundle of cards to gift to someone is a wonderful idea. Not only are you giving someone beautiful handmade cards to share with someone else, but you’re also saving them money and time from having to go to the store to shop for some, right?

You can bundle the cards (and don’t forget the envelopes!) into as many as you’d like. You can tie a ribbon around the bundle or you can also find clear card boxes to put them into. I’ve found that 5 standard cards without too many layers or embellishments usually fit nicely in the boxes. But if you’re doing this last minute, wrap some pretty ribbon around them and call it good.

3: Homemade Cookies

Giving homemade cookies is always a thoughtful gift. Some people don’t bake–whether they don’t feel they are not good at it or they just don’t want too many goodies around–so receiving some tasty homemade cookies is a real treat.

Or if you want to go a step further you could make it into a fun activity gift. Either bake or buy some sugar cookies, along with some frosting, and then create this easy & delightful DIY Sprinkles Kit. I found these Pill Organizers at the Dollar Tree. I decorated them with the More Than Autumn Bundle from Stampin’ Up! You could decorate them in so many ways.

Just remember to cover the inside of the lids too for a more complete, polished look.

4. Cookies in a Jar/Soup in a Jar

Similar to the homemade cookies idea, you can create jars of cookie mix to gift. These are perfect because you can dress up the lids with some decorative papers (or fabric) as well as the instructions tag.

I got together with a friend this year to make several of these and some Friendship Soup Jars. It’s always more fun to do things with a friend, right?! She made up a little drawing to guide us on how to layer the ingredients for both.

If the person you are giving a gift to is more of a savory person, why not try jars of Friendship Soup.

If neither of these seem right for your recipient, there are likely many, many more recipes for jar creations out there. Do a quick Google search and I’m sure you’ll find one perfect for your needs.

5. Handcrafted Ornament

Stampin' Up Hoop Ornament

Stampin’ Up had a beautiful ornament kits that created 9 of these hoop ornaments. While you can’t order the kit and get it in time, you could definitely use the design element to create you own! I love the floating aspect by using some cord to hold the focal point. I’ll definitely be using this idea to create my own ornaments next year!

Christmas Ornament Tin

You can also utilize items you have handy to create a unique and meaningful ornament. I created this ornament years ago using a small tin I had. Using some stamping, ribbon, and fake snow, I turned it into a Shaker Ornament.

Paper Ornament

This Paper Ornament is one that I created just a few weeks ago. I have a how-to video tutorial video for it HERE. It would be super cute with a family photo in the middle. Or a photo of a grandkid or even a pet. So many personalized ideas with this one!

I know there are so many more easy DIY ideas you could use for gift giving. Hopefully you’re inspired to use one of these 5 easy last minute gift ideas this holiday season!
