For today’s Make It Monday (54th edition), I’m sharing this birthday super-star card. I loved the color combination I used for this card. The Glacier with the Peacock is so striking. Then you add in a little neutral tone like Linen and it’s so wonderful. I was so happy with the end result that I thought it would make the perfect color challenge for this week.
I used one of my go-to birthday stamp sets, Birthday Greetings (D1899), which is unfortunately now retired. In keeping with the colors in the challenge, I stamped my sentiment in Peacock ink. Additionally, although it doesn’t really show, I did a second generation stamping of a candle in the center of the sentiment in Linen ink.
You can’t create a super-star birthday card without a little sparkle, right?! So I added in some of our Silver Shimmer Trim (cut the width in half for just a touch of it.) Then to finish it off, I placed a couple of our Silver Glitter Gems in the upper left-hand corner of the card.
I encourage you to give this color combination a try. It really is quite striking. Plus, with our two-toned cardstock you could get a really fun effect by using both shades of the colors. Add in whatever birthay stamps you own and create your own version of a birthday super-star card!
