I created this stunning You Are Wonderful Butterfly Card over the weekend. There are so many aspects of this card I love. I love the balance of the rough texture I created along with the soft feel of the Vellum Paper butterfly.
Then there’s the gorgeous Rose Gold Foil Peach Cardstock I used for the base of the butterfly. Isn’t it so pretty? It’s from the You Are Enough Coordinating Cardstock Pack. I used the Layered Butterfly Thin Cuts to cut out the 2 butterflies. I’m loving this set of dies along with the irridescent butterfly You Are Enough Sequins. The sequins are so easy to use since they have the adhesive backing.
Another aspect of this card that I love is the color combination. In all honesty, I would never have thought to put these colors together. But when you start playing with our 2 toned cardstock and creating an ombre effect, they totally work together. And so well, too. So I decided to make them today’s Color Challenge for Make It Monday (61st edition.)
My card uses Light Peach for the outside of the card base. I did this so that the Peach Rose Gold Foil Cardstock butterfly would pop more. This meant that the inside of my card would be true Peach. It looks pink in the photo but it really is peach! To keep the feel of the outside on the inside too, I used the same distressing technique to complete my sentiment.
The You Are Enough Stamp Set offers several ways to complete the “You are” sentiment. It’s brilliant that they did this. Additionally, they included “I am.” How awesome would it be to use this in your scrapbooking? So often we document stories about others but don’t always take the time to document ourselves and our story. For a little bit of contrast, I stamped the sentiment in Cinnamon ink. I really like the look of this color. I don’t use it enough but should. After stamping with it for this card I really came to appreciate the beauty of it.
