CTMH Punny Valentine's Day Treats

Today I wanted to share with you a couple of punny Valentine’s Day treats you can create with Close To My Heart’s *NEW* Smitten Collection. Yesterday I shared all about the Smitten Collection–from the cheerful, bright colors and patterns in the papers to the darling stamp set with or without coordinating dies.

As you can see (and as you’d expect!) there are plenty of heart patterns and pink tones in this collection. But I wanted to show off the versatility of the collection without being in that traditional pink vein for Valentine’s Day. The first project I created was this cute lime treat holder.

I paired our Clover Cardstock with the color of the year ribbon–Wild Berry. They make a nice pairing. To stamp the lime slice I inked it up entirely in Green Apple (love this green color!) and I then carefully tapped the edge of the slice on the Clover Stamp Pad. Since there is a nice straight edge to our ink pads it made it easy to control where I was picking up ink from. I repeated this same process by tapping just the hearts in the Wild Berry ink. Then I stamped the whole image as usual. The result was a beautiful tri-colored image!

Next, I did the traditional Valentine’s Day pun treat–Bee Mine. I used some of the pink heart paper but brought out the Carolina and Nectarine colors in it for a little twist. And of course, I couldn’t resist using our Clear Shimmer Brush on the little bee’s wings. Always the perfect touch. And so easy to do!

Want to know how to create these fun triangle boxes? They are SO easy. I’ve been creating them for years. They make a great way to give a gift or little treat. And they are so easy to manipulate if you need it larger or smaller. Just follow my Triangle Treats Tutorial from many years ago and you can have your own punny Valentine’s Day Treats in no time at all.
