You may have noticed that my ribbon was curled on my “Functional Pumpkin Decoration” post found HERE. How would you like to know how to curl your fabric ribbon?
First of all you will need either some Mod Podge or Fabric Stiffener.
Here are the supplies I used:
- Mod Podge
- Foam Paint Brush
- Z891 VersaMark Ink Pad
- Z1100 Cocoa Grosgrain Ribbon
- Pencil
- Straight Pin & Rubber Band (not pictured)
STEP 1:
Paint a very thin layer of Mod Podge on the length of ribbon you wish to curl. You want it to be like there is barely any on your ribbon.
STEP 2: (optional)
Apply VersaMark ink to pencil. (This helps ensure the ribbon will release easily from your pencil).
STEP 3:
Secure one end of your ribbon with a straight pin into your pencil eraser. Then begin wrapping your ribbon around your pencil. When you come to the end of your ribbon you can use a rubber band to secure it to your pencil while it dries.
STEP 4:
Let dry. Remove rubber band and straight pin and unwrap ribbon from pencil. Use on project as desired.
Thanks, I appreciate your compliment! Hopefully it was a teeny bit inspirational given that you are a Mod Podge lover! 🙂
Cute! What a great little tutorial!
