Birthday Money Holder Card

Wonderful Cards and Useful Card Techniques

Birthday Money Holder Card

On Saturday we held our semi-annual Crazy for Cards Event.  Guests came and made an assortment of 12 cards, complete with envelopes.  We had a variety of different styles–traditional cards, unique folds, money holders (like pictured above and below) and we sprinkled in a few useful techniques as well.  It’s always a fun event!

Inside Birthday Money Holder Card This money holder was one that was a favorite by many.  Probably because it’s such a useful style of card to have!  Which is exactly why I designed it for the event!  With this card, I showed how to do cluster stamping, two-tone stamping, embossing long pieces of cardstock (our Embossing Folders have handy slits in the top allowing you to slide a long piece through to continue the embossed look without any tricky methods or breaks in the pattern), and how to add dimension to cut out flowers using our Bone Folder.

  • Tagged with Love Hostess Stamp Set (C1614)

Places You'll Go Card

This card–loved by many for it’s Dr. Seuss quote–shows the power of layering a card.  When you feel your card needs a little something extra, but you can’t figure it out–try adding some layers.  It can really pack a punch!  I also showed how you can create easy ties/bows while still conserving ribbon so you can get the most out of a spool of ribbon.  Finally, we discovered the power of stamping only with black ink.  You can then add in a touch of color using our Watercolor Pencils to tie it all together.

Supplies used to create this card:

Thanks a Latte Cards

The final card I designed was one that they created two of.  I wanted them to see more of the patterns from our *NEW* Jackson Paper Pack (love it!) so I didn’t alter the design at all–just the patterned paper they used.  This was a very simple design, but I really like the look of it.  The stripe embossed frame has the perfect coffee sleeve look!  This card showcased how to do selective inking–we used the “a latte” sentiment from a larger sentiment image.  I also had everyone make their own diagonal cut using our Deluxe Paper Trimmer–the wire cut-line indicator is amazing and a must-try for all!
