Close To My Heart has been supporting Operation Smile since 2004. A portion of the proceeds from each sale of a stamp set has gone to this wonderful charity. Plus, customers can always round up their order totals and donate the change to Operation Smile–such a simple way to help out. Consultants got in on the action and began having Silent Auctions at our local events and even at the Annual Conventions to support this cause.
Last year, the support expanded to an exclusive Base & Bling necklace created by CTMH only for Convention attendees with a minimum donation amount (pictured above.) It was so well received, that they did it again this year!
Also, last year was the first year for a 5K run–just like the necklaces, it was a hit so they did it again this year. Would you believe that we raised over $40,000 for Operation Smile during Convention this year between the necklaces, the auction and the 5K run?!? Amazing, right?
Another new addition to our support this year was the introduction of exclusive stamp sets devoted specifically to helping out Operation Smile. The first one was introduced in our Seasonal Expressions 1 that debuted in December. The You’re the Bomb Stamp Set was available through March this year. It was incredibly popular–I even chose to use it as part of our Scrapbook Expo Make-n-Take this past winter. CTMH donated $3 of the proceeds of each of these sets that were sold to Operation Smile.
The Happy Everything Stamp Set is currently available as part of our exclusive sets supporting Operation Smile. It will be available through August 31.
I’m excited to report that our next set called Animal Greetings is not only super cute and available for an entire year, but this set will give Operation Smile a $7 donation with each set sold. Yay! This set will be available starting September 1, 2015.
