Cricut Artistry Halloween Card

Today’s card is one that goes together so quick and easy.  There’s NO stamping–it’s beauty comes from cuts from the wonderful *NEW* Cricut Artistry Collection.

I started out using the Scaredy Cat Paper Packet (note: this paper retires at the end of the month!)  I made one alteration to the color scheme though–instead of using Thistle, I used Smokey Plum.  What can I say?  I like the deeper, more muted purple color!  Another note: the Smokey Plum color is also set to retire at the end of the month!  Get ’em while you can–we’re talking cardstock, ink pads and re-inkers!

I then added in sheets from the Basics Paper Fundamentals (Black and Slate).  I love the glossy resist patterns and how they add a little more depth and appeal to your projects.

Then it was time to add in the fun cuts from the Cricut Artistry cartridge. First, I cut the fun polka dot overlay in Sunset so I could add a little more layering to the card–layering always makes a project look better and more complete!  Then I cut the pumpkin in Black and followed that by cutting the corresponding jack-o-lantern image in Sunset.  I used the ShinHan Mahogany Alcohol marker to color the jack-o-lantern’s stem.  The final two cuts were the sentiment–which I LOVE!  Again, I chose to cut the background solid image out in Black.  I then cut the corresponding sentiment in Smokey Plum.  I love how the wording doesn’t rip or tear at all while it’s being cut. The wording is so crisp and clear and easy to read.  Plus, the different fonts together is SO fun!

Before putting it all together, I used the holes of the overlay to tie the Baker’s Twine into a bow.  Tip: right now on my CTMH Online Store, you can get 20 yards of this twine for only $2.80!  It’s while supplies last, so don’t dilly dally! =)

I used our Corner Rounder to round opposite ends of the squares and rectangle for a nice visual appeal.  Then after adhering all the basics, I popped up the jack-o-lantern and sentiment using both the 3-D Foam Tape and the Thin 3-D Foam Tape.  It’s nice being able to combine the two to get varying degrees of lift!  Lastly, there had to be a little bit of bling, right?  I used the Clear Sparkles Assortment to finish out the card.
