Artiste Jack o Lantern Circle Card

Halloween lends itself to creating some fun & unique cards. Look at this adorable Jack-o-Lantern Card I created using a basic circle card as my base. I then used CTMH’s Cricut Artiste to cut out this Jack-0-Lantern face (there’s a fabulous Frankenstein face, too!) This card really was quick and easy to put together. But with the added touches of embossing it, sanding the embossing followed by sponging the edges, it adds a lot to the visual appeal of the card. The final touch was to use Thin 3-D Foam Tape to give the face a little “pop.”

Blossoming Expressions Card

This Sunday, October 25th, is Mother-In-Law Day and what better way to celebrate the occasion than to make and send her a handmade card! Mother-in-Laws tend to get a bad reputation so this seems like a great “unofficial” holiday to celebrate, don’t you think?

For this card, I decided to use our *NEW* Square Diffuser so that I could make the sentiment stand out a little more. The Diffusers are so fun (and easy!) to use.

So no joke, just the other day I was telling my husband I needed to purchase my next planner to prepare for 2016. Then what does CTMH announce at the Australasia Convention? They are introducing *NEW* Planners beginning December 1st! I’m so excited. I mean really excited. I am a huge planner. As in every weekend I sit down and map out my next week. It may be that I just have way too much on my plate and need to organize it. Or maybe it’s simply my Type A personality!

A Halloween Box Who’s ‘Trick’ is a Treat!

This darling little Halloween Box is so quick and easy to put together with the help of Close To My Heart’s Cricut Artiste Collection. It’s the perfect little box to put a little treat in for your special trick or treaters this Halloween. Making fun little treats for those special people couldn’t be easier since the Cricut does all the work. Simply select the size you want (a recommended size is given in the Cricut handbook) and then fold all the score lines, sponge the edges if you’d like–for a little more spooky look–and then glue the tabs together and voila, you have an amazing Halloween Box for giving treats in.

We used the Little Monsters Stamp Set which is so adorable with it’s spooky cute characters that can be colored in using our ShinHan Alcohol Markers or our Watercolor Pencils. I don’t think you could create a bad project using this stamp set! It’s just so cute! I would recommend prepping all your pieces for the box and adhering them before putting the box all together. It’ll just make it easier to have nice contact when adhering the spooky creatures to the box.

Can you believe there are only a few more days of National Stamping Month? October will be here next week! I can’t believe it. If you haven’t had a chance to get your hands on one (or all 3!) of CTMH’s exclusive National Stamping Month Stamp Sets–Hello, Life, don’t delay much longer.

These stamps sets pair together so well. Even though they each were designed with a specific type of crafting in mind (cardmaking, scrapbooking and pocket scrapbooking) the images contained in each set are perfect complements to each other.

For this particular card, I used both the Pocket Scrapbooking and the Scrapbooking Hello, Life Stamp Sets.

Back to School!

Today was the first day of school for my kids. I wanted to create a little something for the teachers so I went with something useful. I stamped up little notebooks for them to use throughout the year. I did get a little grief from a friend who works at a school about my use of apples. Apparently, teachers get tired of all the apple-themed gifts. Who knew? I guess I can understand as I think more about it though. Hopefully the teachers weren’t like, “oh no, more apples!” =)

This darling Crayon Bouquet is something I wanted to share since last spring–and the timing seems perfect with the start of school!
