Carnival Party: Fish in a Bag Soap

This past weekend my son and daughter turned 6-years-old.  I truly thought my days of being able to do a joint themed birthday party for them was going to be over by now.  I mean how can you get a totally girly-girl who loves pink, princesses and all things frilly to agree with a boy who is all about superheroes!? A carnival themed party was just the ticket!

So I’ve been busy preparing for our big Carnival Birthday Party this weekend.  One of my first ideas was to create fish in a bag soap.  Keep in mind this was an entirely new arena for me…making soap.  Plus, getting the placement of the fish just right proved to be a bit tricky sometimes!

Several dozen later, I got it down!  It’s a process that’s all about timing.  In order to place the plastic fish in the soap so that they won’t drop to the bottom, I used a small wire attached to the tail.  When the soap was starting to harden, I slowly removed the wire.  If the timing is right, no evidence remains of the wire.  But if you’ve waited too long, sadly a little trail of where the wire was remains!
