Christmas in San Francisco

Today I took the kids up to San Francisco to meet up with our friend, Madeline. We had a super fun day filled with seeing the big Macy’s Christmas Tree in Union Square, having a yummy lunch at Cheesecake Factory, playing at Yerba Buena Gardens Park and then back to Madeline’s place for some low-key fun.

Union Square Tree

You can sort of get a sense of the size of the tree–took this from where we were eating at the Cheesecake Factory up on the balcony.  But this picture gives another perspective of the size…

Isn’t that a beautiful blue sky?!?  For those of you in the Bay Area, you know it’s not always so gorgeous in SF at this time of year (it’s the rainy season afterall). But today was sunny, blue skies and warm!  It was glorious.

Back at Madeline’s place I got to see a sneak peek of one of her Christmas cards she’s making…

Pretty, huh?!?  I love the sparkle on her cutout ornaments!  She then introduced me to these…

Dove Peppermint Bark

I will tell you 2 things about these tasty treats.

  1. If you like peppermint bark, you need to run, not walk (it’s very close to Christmas afterall–they may be sold out!) to your nearest Target, drugstore or whatnot to pick up a bag of these.
  2. These may be habit forming.  They are very addicting and super yummy.  You’ve been forewarned!
