It’s the final few days to grab the Close To My Heart October Stamp of the Month, Autumn Air. This stamp set has a great variety of images–from outline and solid leaf images to sentiments and even a fun border image.
This month at my Technique Time Class we created this card with the Autumn Air Stamp Set. It was the perfect set to learn about making custom ink pads to have multi-colored leaves.
To make your own custom ink pad you need only 3 things:
- a baby wipe
- a cheap plastic plate or plate you don’t mind getting ink on
- bottles of re-inker in the colors you desire for your project
Fold up a baby wipe or two and place on your plate. Then add drops of re-inker so that they end up touching–I’d recommend at least 3 colors. Then you stamp as you usually would just making sure to overlap and get a few colors on your stamp image. Before re-inking your image you’ll want to stamp off any residue onto scratch paper to ensure you don’t muddy up the colors of your custom ink pad.
