Looking for an irresistibly cute concoction for your Thanksgiving Day Celebration?? This may be just what you’re looking for! I’ve been making these for years now…completely thought I saw this idea at one of my husband’s HUGE family Thanksgiving dinners but he assures me that that is not the case. So apparently this is an original creative discovery by me! Who knew?!?
Let’s meet the Cast of Characters:
-
Chocolate Covered Cherries
-
Fudge Striped Cookies
-
Candy Corn
-
Chocolate Frosting
-
Chocolate Star Candies
STEP 1: Connect one (1) Chocolate Covered Cherry to two (2) Chocolate Star Candies with some Chocolate Frosting (this is your “glue” if you will). Say hello to your body and feet!
[Side Note: In the past, I’ve always been able to purchase Chocolate Star Candies by Brachs, but this year after going to 3 different Grocery Chains and then 3 Drug Store Chains with no luck (boooooooo!) I decided to make them myself. Simply melt some chocolate and then add to an icing bag with a star decorator tip and squeeze out adorable handmade stars onto wax paper.]
STEP 2: Again using some Chocolate Frosting, attach a Chocolate Striped Cookie to the backside of the Chocolate Covered Cherry. And don’t be afraid to use a lot of frosting…these bad boys need it!! Hello feathers.
STEP 3: Use Chocolate Frosting to attach one (1) Candy Corn to the front of the Chocolate Covered Cherry. Hello Turkey head.
Repeat until you have a whole army of turkeys! 🙂
These were a huge hit at Preschool today. Perfect finale to the Thanksgiving Feast. Gobble, gobble and they were gone!
Adorable turkeys! That cookie is just perfect for the tail feathers. 🙂
