I loved Pharrell Williams song Happy as soon as I heard it in Despicable Me 2. Funny how the song took awhile to hit mainstream and gain in popularity, isn’t it? Well, as soon as I saw that Tresa, another CTMH Consultant, was organizing a Flash Mob to Happy at CTMH’s Convention in honor of it being our 30th Anniversary–I was in! Now don’t get me wrong, I would not describe myself as a dancer or coordinated at all. But that being said–Tresa made the dance moves SUPER SIMPLE! I can’t even begin to imagine the time she put into doing this for all of us and Jeanette, our founder and CEO of CTMH.
This was all super hush-hush! It was meant to be a surprise for the Corporate staff as well as Jeanette. Tresa had coordinated with just one person from the Corporate staff to ensure the surprise was pulled off without any glitches. Even other Consultants at Convention who weren’t a part of the Flash Mob had no idea. To help identify who was a part of the big surprise while attending Convention, Tresa made up some fun “Happy” buttons that had adjectives that coordinated with which group we were a part of (group A, group B and group C.) And…in my crazy state of too much going on in June, I completely missed this component of our surprise until Monday before I left for Convention. I saw people on our secret group site sharing their decorated buttons and was completely confused. To my surprise, I was able to whip a button up for me and my roomie just hours before my flight left. Talk about last minute!
Even though the month of June is a blur to me, I did find time to practice–my kids even joined in the on fun. They know the moves as well as me (maybe even better!) It’s actually quite cute because anytime the song comes on the radio, we sound off on which group needs to be dancing and they are all over it. I’m so glad that someone made a video of us doing this. Of the 1,000 Consultants in attendance at Convention, 400 Consultants participated (or signed up to!) in the Flash Mob. Wanna see it? Of course you do! Here you go…
