Holiday Tradition Scrapbook Layout

For today’s Make It Monday (41st edition), I’m sharing this wonderful holiday tradition scrapbook layout. While this holiday season likely looked different for us all, I have no doubt that there was a tradition or two you were still able to keep. This layout would be a great way to document it! And today I’m sharing a pattern with you so that you can create with it like I did.

I knew I wanted to use Candy Apple and Clover with my layout but I didn’t really have any patterned paper with these colors. So I went to our Jingle Joy Collection because not only does it contain a whimsical holiday feel to it, but on the reverse sides of those whimsical patterns are versatile black & white patterns!

I also added in some Toffee since I plan to use this layout for our Gingerbread House tradition. I added some dry embossing and sanding on my Toffee Cardstock since in the Easy Inspiration Pattern it called for another patterened paper. It added some nice depth and texture to the layout.

I added in the Jingle Joy Die-cuts, White & Gold Skinny Ribbon and Gold Glitter Gems as my embellishments.

You might notice that none of the die-cuts are blank; nor do any of them say tradition. I simply wet embossed the back side of of one of the ones I knew I likely wouldn’t use. If you haven’t thought to do that before–I hope you’ll give it a try! It gives you a little more versatility with your items. I used our Simply Said Alphabet Stamp Set to stamp “tradition” with VersaMark ink. I then sprinkled our White Embossing Powder, tapped off the excess and heated it up with our Heat Tool. A wonderful trick when heat embossing (especially with white on black!) is to rub the area you are going to emboss with our Anti-static Pouch (Z4220) first (it’s currently on backorder.) This keeps away any stray powder allowing for a more clean, crisp appearance to your project.

Right Tradition Layout

What traditions were you able to keep this holiday season? Perhaps you can use the Easy Inspiration Pattern to create a layout like I did. Hopefully my holiday tradition scrapbook layout has provided you a little inspiration to get started on your own layout.
