Monochromatic Magic

White-Daisy-Honeycomb-Card

One of the fun parts of attending CTMH’s Annual Convention is participating in the card swaps.  It’s a great chance to be inspired by different styles, learn new techniques and be reminded of some classic tricks you may not have used in awhile.  The latter is the case with the card above.  It’s a card from my roommate Cindy.  I thought it was stunning in its simplicity.  A true example of monochromatic magic!!  Plus, it showcases one of the fabulous benefits of using clear stamps–being able to mount them together in a cluster on your block to create your own perfect background.

Can you see how quick and easy it can be to create this card using this custom cluster?  It’s awesome!  So I decided to re-create her card only making one slight change–it’s very subtle.  She used White Daisy Cardstock whereas I decided to use Colonial White so that it coordinated better with the Color-Ready Seam Binding bow.

From the pictures you probably can’t even tell.  But in person you definitely notice the difference!  The supplies I used are:

  • Honeycomb & Patterned Pennants Stamp Sets
  • Colonial White & Lagoon Cardstock
  • Lagoon ink
  • Color-Ready Seam Binding
