I still remember how excited I was when Close To My Heart introduced their Non-Stick Micro-Tip Scissors. It most definitely is one of those “must-have” tools that every paper crafter should have (in my opinion!!) Earlier this week CraftCritique.com did a review on these handy scissors. Here is what it had to say:
Review | Close To My Heart Non-Stick Micro-Tip Scissors
August 26, 2013 by Cassandra Darwin2 CommentsWhat is the one thing that all crafters need? A great pair of scissors! I had the chance to review the Close To My Heart Non-Stick Micro-Tip Scissors, and I think this pair would be a great addition to your paper crafting tools.
At first glance they look like fairly a basic tool, but the blades are actually very sharp, non stick coated, and smooth cutting.
Admittedly, I have a bunch of detail-type scissors. I rounded up four pairs to use for comparison in this review! The blades on this Close To My Heart pair most closely resembles the Cutter Bee non stick pair of scissors. Both have a special coating that allows you to use these scissors when cutting through adhesive – everything wipes off easily when you’re done. Both pairs also have small blades that measure just under 3 inches from tip to joint and 5 inches from end to end.
After using the scissors on a few pieces of scrap paper I decided to actually make a card.
It was easy to use these ones for fussy cutting small stamped images. But after cutting out this whale twice, I was really wishing the scissors had some padding on the handles.
All of my other small scissors have some kind of rubber on the grip and these ones are all hard plastic. Pretty much my only complaint is that it would get painful to do a lot of cutting with these. I also used them to snip the end of the sentiment banner on my card.
