This week’s Make It Monday features another FREE card pattern. This Top Band Pattern is from our now retired Wishes Card Pattern Book. It’s a simple design and one you can certainly alter a bit as I’ve done here today!
You can download/print this pattern here: wishes-top-band 04_27_20
With the slender, tall card design I thought it would be perfect to showcase this special, limited-edition stamp–Poppy Sentiments. This is one of 2 *NEW* stamp sets designed for Anzac Day–a day of rememberance in Australia and New Zealand.
After I stamped my poppys (which I love!), I found I no longer wanted to cover up a portion of them by adding the band across the card as indicated in this pattern. So…I decided to stamp my sentiment in the upper left-hand corner (I originally planned to have my sentiment on the band.) It may not follow the pattern to a “t”, but I’m still pretty happy with it.
Feel free to use the pattern as a starting point and then go where it feels natural with the card. There’s no right or wrong–you’re in the driver’s seat!
