10 Ideas for Leprechaun Tricks on St. Patrick’s Day

For today’s post, I thought I’d share 10 ideas for “leprechaun tricks” that are just plain fun to do for the little ones in your life.  Here are some I did last year for my kids as well as some additional ones I’ve found or thought up.

Surprise! Green FoodS

1. Green scrambled eggs for breakfast – just add a touch of green food coloring.

2. Green dyed eggs in the carton – just use Easter egg dying kits

3. Green pancakes or waffles

4. Green milk to drink – best when you have a gallon of milk that is almost empty…that way you can color it with food coloring and not feel guilty when your kids refuse to drink it as my daughter did last year!

5. Green Treats – Treats like green Rice Krispie Treats or green cupcakes will be a hit – even my finicky daughter was into eating these!

Or how about instead of altering the color of traditional items…you can substitute items that are also naturally green .  For example…

6. Apple Switch – One day have all red apples, with your green Granny Smiths all ready to substitute back on St. Patrick’s Day!

7. Banana Switch – have fully ripe ones until St. Patrick’s Day… and then suddenly have green ones

Other Green Tricks

8. Green Baths – Draw a green bath for your child. Crayola makes some fun color tabs for bathtime

9. Green Foot Prints – Make little foot prints using washable green markers. You can even get glass markers for writing on windows and glass doors

10. Leprechaun Dust – Mix some green food coloring with sugar and create some magic leprechaun dust to sprinkle
