The Perfect Card for Any Harry Potter Fan!

Harry Potter Card

Are you part of the Harry Potter frenzy?  Did you pre-order your book?  Or maybe you are heading to a launch party at midnight tonight?

We pre-ordered ours and should have it between midnight and 2 am thanks to Amazon Prime Now!  My son, who is completely an “early to bed, early to rise” guy believes he will be able to stay awake until the book arrives!

In honor of the festivities, I whipped up this fun card using CTMH’s exclusive Cricut Artiste (retiring!) and Artistry Collections.  The hardest (not really hard) part was paper piecing the tie together.  Otherwise, with all the Cricut cuts it went together in a snap!

3 Reasons You Should Send Out Halloween Cards!

Artiste Jack o Lantern Circle Card

It’s 1 week until Halloween–the perfect time to send out some Halloween cards.  Do you send out Halloween cards?  You should!  Here are 3 reasons you should send them out.

Artiste Jack o Lantern Circle Card

  1. Halloween lends itself to creating some fun & unique cards.  Look at this adorable Jack-o-Lantern Card I created using a basic circle card as my base.  I then used CTMH’s Cricut Artiste to cut out this Jack-0-Lantern face (there’s a fabulous Frankenstein face, too!)  This card really was quick and easy to put together.  But with the added touches of embossing it, sanding the embossing followed by sponging the edges, it adds a lot to the visual appeal of the card.  The final touch was to use Thin 3-D Foam Tape to give the face a little “pop.”

A Halloween Box Who’s ‘Trick’ is a Treat!

Cricut Artiste Hallowen Box

Cricut Artiste Hallowen Box

This darling little Halloween Box is so quick and easy to put together with the help of Close To My Heart’s Cricut Artiste Collection.  It’s the perfect little box to put a little treat in for your special trick or treaters this Halloween.   Making fun little treats for those special people couldn’t be easier since the Cricut does all the work.  Simply select the size you want (a recommended size is given in the Cricut handbook) and then fold all the score lines, sponge the edges if you’d like–for a little more spooky look–and then glue the tabs together and voila, you have an amazing Halloween Box for giving treats in.

Cricut Artiste Spooky Cute Box

We used the Little Monsters Stamp Set  which is so adorable with it’s spooky cute characters that can be colored in using our ShinHan Alcohol Markers or our Watercolor Pencils.  I don’t think you could create a bad project using this stamp set!  It’s just so cute!  I would recommend prepping all your pieces for the box and adhering them before putting the box all together.  It’ll just make it easier to have nice contact when adhering the spooky creatures to the box.

This darling little tote cut from CTMH’s Cricut Artiste cartridge was one of the projects my Stamp Club made this month.  It uses this month’s Stamp of the Month–It’s the Little Things.  It incorporates random stamping, masking as well as using the Quilling Tool to roll the 3-D flower (also cut from the Artiste.)
