Technique Time–Emboss Resist

This technique has such a sensational look to it and is super easy to achieve.

Step 1:

Use Versamark ink or embossing ink to stamp your images as usual.

Step 2:

Depending on the CS you use, you can either sprinkle clear embossing powder (which is what I’ve done here) or white embossing powder over your stamped images.  Shake off excess and then heat set with your heat tool.  Image will go from a grainy appearance to a nice smooth, glossy one.

Step 3:

Using a round sponge (which you can cut into quarters to get maximum use), you’ll ink it up in an ink pad color of your choice and then apply the ink in a circular motion over the embossed image.  You’ll want to really rub it in to intensify the ink color and make the embossing pop.
In my sample I’ve used:
  • Star Dimensional Elements
  • Olivia Level 2 Papers
  • Cocoa Ribbon
  • Bitty Sparkles
  • Unity Stamp Set
